SX3 Moto Win For Connor Towill At Aus SX Adelaide

Connor Towill and the CT22 Racing program made the long anticipated return to Australian Supercross for Round 1 of the SX3 Championship in Adelaide on Saturday October 30th.

As a renowned Supercross rider, Connor faced a tumultuous lead time into the Australian Supercross Championship SX3 class opener. Firstly, recovery from surgery to fix a broken collarbone at the end of the ProMX Championship required downtime. This was subsequently followed by unprecedented rainfall that left many Supercross tracks in NSW unrideable for many weeks leading into the Championship.

“My preparation for Supercross this year has not been ideal. Between my injury and the weather, we have been on the back foot. But when we did get the chance, Chris Woods ensured we made the most of it and I knew my bike and program would be ready for Adelaide”.

After shaking the cobwebs in practice and qualifying from over 3 years of no Supercross racing in Australia, Connor prepared for a 3 race final format in SX3.

“The race format was intense and in the first final, I made a small mistake in the pack and got shuffle back to 6th position. With the fast turn around, I was still tight heading into the second final and even though I ran in 2nd place, I conceded to 4th place to regroup for the final race.” commented Connor.

“In the final Moto I executed a perfect holeshot and was able to ride my own race and showcase my Supercross skills. The race felt effortless for me and taking a win felt great”.

“It’s a shame we just missed out on the podium in 4th overall, but I’m confident we have a fantastic base heading into SX3 Round 2 in the coming weeks and I’m excited to get back to the test track and keep our program progressing”, concluded Connor.
