Season Best 2nd Overall For Alsop At ProMX Round 3 Gillman

Ride Red Honda’s Jet Alsop has emerged from Round 3 of the 2025 ProMX Championship with 2nd Overall in the MX3 Class, with 2-4 Moto scores allowing the young QLD rider to claim the 2nd step on the podium.

Another consistent day started with the 4th fastest time in MX3 Group 1, with the crucial gate pick for the Gillman left 180 degree first turn on Alsop’s mind in the mornings session.

“I’ve been working hard on my starts and everyone knows the Gillman first turn, you have to qualify well and line up on the inside”, said Alsop.

“I wouldn’t say they are “fixed” but I was able to muscle my way through the first few turns in both moto’s and be in the lead pack battle which was new for me this season.”

Early race passes in Moto 1 saw Alsop move his way into 3rd position, when late race issues for Kye Woods would open up 2nd position on the closing laps.

In moto 2, more passes and hard charging laps would lead to 4th position, where consistency would pay off, rewarding Alsop with 2nd Overall.

“Honestly I am a little disappointed with today. My starts were better, but we are still working towards building back to where I want to be and that is challenging for race wins. The consistency is great and that right now is the focus, we are slowly ticking boxes and I’m grateful to walk away 3rd in the Championship moving closer to 2nd”, concluded Alsop.

Jet Alsop now focuses on Round 4 of the ProMX Championship, taking place at Traralgon, Vic on Sunday 25th.
