The Moto1 Motorcycles KTM Team are ready for Toowoomba and “Echo Valley”, as the first QLD based ProMX Round of the season sees the Sunshine Coast based dealership Team taking on Retro Round with the Jeremy McGrath inspired “Hot Wheels” graphics design.

Returning with an expanded roster of riders to finish out the 2024 ProMX Championship, the Moto1 Motorcycles KTM supported rider count in MX3 will grow to 4 riders for the remainder of the ProMX Championship.

Team regulars Deacon Paice #621 and Zac O’Loan #17 are being joined by New Zealand based support riders Cooper Philips #112 and Phoenix Van Dusschoten #722.

In MX3, Deacon Paice continues to lead the charge for the team, currently sitting in 5th in the MX3 Championship, the now QLD based rider is looking to mount a late season charge starting at Toowoomba.

“I’ve been based in QLD all season and to have the final 3 Rounds of the Championship on familiar tracks is exciting. I think we can find some of the early season success and claim some podiums again, starting at Toowoomba,” commented Paice.

For the second Round in a row, the MXW (MX Women’s) Class will also run alongside the regular Championship classes, with Darci Whalley looking for redemption after small mistakes and crashes kept her off the podium at Murray Bridge.

“I learned so much from Murray Bridge as my first ProMX race after missing Round 1 with injury. I’ve raced many laps around Toowoomba and I’m feeling confident heading into Echo Valley,” said Whalley.

For Moto1 Motorcycles KTM Team owner Shane Fretwell, the QLD based rounds offer a chance to build on a big season so far, adding riders to the team program and growing the Moto1 Motorcycles Racing program further.

“We are extremely passionate about going racing and that’s clear to see. At this late stage of the season we are able to add more riders to our support programs being a QLD based team with the New Zealand duo of Philips and Van Dusschoten,” said Fretwell.

“Our goal is to see as many high level riders under our program as possible representing our dealership partners and growing both the Championship and our Racing program within that, so it’s an exciting time to be going racing at Toowoomba,” concluded Fretwell.

Round 6 of the 2024 ProMX Championship takes place at Toowoomba, QLD on Sunday 21st July, with the event being broadcast across free-to-air coverage on SBS and the streaming platform SBS On Demand along with the ProMX TV live stream coverage.
