Moto1 Motorcycles Honda Ready For ProMX Retro Round
The Moto1 Motorcycles Honda Team will take on Toowoomba this weekend as the Retro Round of the ProMX Championship hits “Echo Valley”, with a special edition graphics and riding gear combo to be announced Saturday morning.
For 2024, New Zealand riders Rian King #110 and Curtis King #41 form part of the expanded Moto1 Motorcycles racing program. With the final 3 Rounds of the ProMX Championship based in QLD, the brothers now have an excellent opportunity to capitalise on their program being based in the Sunny State.
Rian King came off a mid-season injury with a remarkable career best 6th position in the opening MX2 Moto at Murray Bridge just one round ago. Being able to ride and train again following Round 5 has allowed a return to routine and confidence for the young Kiwi.
“It’s been a solid few weeks after Murray Bridge and my finger is starting to come good”, said King. “Toowoomba is a track I enjoy and it reminds me of the terrain in New Zealand, more high speed and old school motocross. I can’t wait to get out there Sunday when the gate drops.”
Curtis King is also optimistic heading into Echo Valley, after great track position and speed at Murray Bridge was hampered by small mistakes that cost him valuable Championship points.
In the MXW (MX Women’s) Class, Taryn Cox also returns for Round 3 of the MXW Championship, where fresh off the QLD Championships a few weeks back, Taryn will look to place inside the top 10 placings at Echo Valley.
Round 6 of the 2024 ProMX Championship takes place at Toowoomba, QLD on Sunday 21st July, with the event being broadcast across free-to-air coverage on SBS and the streaming platform SBS On Demand along with the ProMX TV live stream coverage.
