Exciting Australian talent Kayden Minear yet again underlined his class by securing a brilliant second overall at the Scouting Moto Combine at Ironman. Words: Ed Stratmann

Fresh from wrapping up his ProMX MX2 campaign the weekend prior, where the KTM Racing Team hotshot impressively finished second in the championship, he carried his momentum over to his Stateside adventure.

Having flown over last Monday and linked up with Daniel Blair’s Orange Brigade program, it was nothing short of remarkable how he rose to the occasion against some of the finest young riders in America.

Blasting off to a scintillating start in the opening moto, the Western Australian emphatically put the hammer down to cruise to a whopping 14-second victory.

He then backed up that statement ride with a strong fourth in the second race, where he battled through the field following a poor start and endured a bike issue, to claim second overall behind gifted New Zealander Cole Davies.

“What a weekend in the USA. To say I’m thankful to everyone that has gotten me over here is an understatement. Started the day with a great start in the first race and ran away with it and finished over 14 seconds in front. Second race got a horrible start and made some quick passes to get myself into fourth and tried to make a last lap charge and unfortunately had a little problem with the bike. But I am so thankful to be able to finish in fourth for second overall for the day and for my first ever race in America. Onto Las Vegas,” he explained.

Blair then added this on his terrific outing: “What a rad day for Kayden Minear. Flew in from Australia on Monday, hopped on the Orange Brigade KTM 250, grabbed a moto win and second overall at the Combine. Proud of you dude.”

After this outstanding display, Minear will now immediately shift his focus to training at the NXT LVL 101 facility in preparation for the SMX 250 World All-Stars event on September 21 in Las Vegas, which represents another fantastic opportunity for him to showcase his talent on the grand stage.
