Milner’s Dislocated Shoulder Postpones AORC Crown Until Final Round

Current 2024 E2 Championship leader Daniel Milner of the KTM Australia, DM31 Racing Team failed to complete Round 10 of AORC due to injury.

Having recorded an impressive win on the Saturday, his weekend took an unfortunate turn on Sunday, as Milner suffered a brutal dislocated shoulder in the second test following a crash.

Despite valiantly trying to battle on, the decision was made to pull out after the shoulder popped out a further three times.

“Was an up and down weekend at rounds nine & 10 of AORC with a win in Saturday’s three hour cross country, having an awesome battle with Kyron Bacon, who was running an impressive pace. Unfortunately, in today’s round 10 sprints I had a big fall in the second test and dislocated my shoulder. Thanks to the help of Les McMahon and my team, we strapped it the best we could to try to get back out there. Unfortunately, within the 2km of the test I rode, it popped out three more times, almost putting me into a tree on the third time. After that, I decided it was time to pull up. It’s disappointing knowing all the hard work that is going into this and we will be doing every single thing possible to be at the last round. Thanks to everyone that helped me all weekend. Also to the people that continue to support me,” reflected a dejected Milner.

Title rival and Sunday victor in Jonte Reynders admirably offered his well wishes to Milner afterwards, commenting: “I hope Milner is okay after a nasty get-off, and I wish him a quick recovery. Hopefully, we will see him at the final rounds.”

Set to do all he can to be fit enough to race at the final stop on the calendar at Nowra, Milner will be fully focusing on his recovery in his quest to hold on to his 26-point lead atop the standings.
