Levi Rogers claims 11th for (CMC) BETA Australia Team
The Caloundra Motorcycle Centre (CMC) BETA Australia Team were on track for Round 6 of the ProMX Championship and “Retro Round” at Tooowoomba. Embracing the throwback spirit, the Team ran a special edition red throwback livery on the All-New BETA RX450, whilst simultaneously previewing the THOR Next Generation apparel range.
On track, the day started slow for Levi Rogers and the Team, as he would struggle to get a clean lap in Qualifying, posting a time good enough for 13th position, missing out on Superpole.
As the gate dropped for Moto 1, a poor start would see Levi mid pack on the opening laps, trying to force track position in challenging rutty conditions. As the early lap traffic cleared, Rogers would struggle to find a flow, suffering from arm pump and frustration at the chequered flag with 14th position.
In Moto 2 the Team and Levi consulted and made some suspension changes that proved hugely successful for the afternoon Moto. Rogers would gate inside the Top Ten and run up front early, battling many factory riders through the 7th-10th placings. As the moto wore on, Levi would settle into 10th position and consistently log laps, crossing the line at the flag in 10th and posting his equal best Moto performance of the season.
Levi was rewarded with 11th Overall from Round 6 and now sits in 12th position in the THOR MX1 Championship leaving Toowoomba.
“We had a mixed bag today. Qualifying and Moto 1 were disappointing but we made some wrong decisions with the bike set up and had to make changes for Moto 2. After that, I felt the best I have all season and the speed was there to battle with the factory riders inside the Top Ten, so I’m extremely happy with what the Team and I achieved in Moto 2,” commented Rogers.
The CMC BETA Australia Team now focuses on Round 7 of the ProMX Championship at Mx Farm, Sunday 11th August.
