Alsop pushes through injury riddled season to line up at AUSX opener

Jett Alsop enters the 2024 Australian Supercross (AUSX) Championship as a title contender in SX3, despite coming off the back of an injury riddled 2024 season. With medical procedures during the ProMX Championship and an unfortunate practice crash incident in the Supercross pre-season, Alsop has limited preparation heading into KAYO Stadium’s Opening Round at Redcliffe, QLD.

The KTM Racing Team’s MX3 representative will be looking to build momentum and log valuable race laps at the AUSX Championship double header this weekend, having been given the all clear to compete after a practice crash incident left Alsop with two broken ribs just three weeks ago.

“These past few seasons have been really challenging for me with injuries”, commented Alsop.

“It wasn’t public knowledge, but after winning Round 2 of ProMX at Horsham and beginning to get my speed and bike time back on track after my ACL reconstruction late in 2023, I injured my shoulder and had surgery to reconstruct my AC Joint.”

“That killed all my momentum and I was riding with a lot of pain for the rest of the Championship. I continued to push through and the KTM Racing Team were amazing to work with and understanding during this time, but it was frustrating for all of us.”

“Getting into Supercross was a reset for me and with my body finally feeling better, I’ve been up to speed and feeling great on the bike. As this year has gone, a practice track incident a few weeks ago left me with broken ribs, which I have just got the all clear from and have ridden once this week leading into Redcliffe.”

“I will give it my all and see what we can do at the Opening Rounds to stay in Championship contention. After the last few seasons I’m not giving up now and will push through to achieve my goals and finish out the 24’ Season on a high before I graduate into the MX2 class for 2025”, concluded Alsop.

Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2024 Australian Supercross Championship take place at KAYO Stadium, Redcliffe QLD, on October 12th and 13th. The event will be broadcast across free-to-air coverage on KAYO Streaming in Australia and MAVTV for international audiences.
