00 Elite Rider Training Focused On Execution At Wollongong For AUSX Round 3

As the 00 Elite Rider Training program sets their sights on Wollongong for AUSX Round 3, Head Coach and program director Nathan Crawford signals that execution is the key to improving on the potential shown across all riders at Redcliffe.

With many of the star riders in the 00 Elite program looking to turn Heat Race wins into Main Event wins and top fives into podiums across the Championship Classes, a focus on the execution of key race fundamentals has been on the forefront of Coach Crawford’s program heading into Wollongong.

“After the Opening Rounds at Redcliffe I was aware of what we needed to work on heading into Wollongong. Our entire program of riders from Junior to Pro have been locked in, working hard, increasing the intensity and effort levels accordingly. The results from Redcliffe did not reflect our program’s potential, other than a few standout riders. Our entire crew simply need to execute on Saturday night and I’m confident the speed and results will shine through from the 00 Elite Rider Training program. The track map and dirt look great for Wollongong and our group of riders are excited to go racing,” he insisted.

In the Pro Classes, Boost Mobile HRC Honda’s Aaron Tanti leads the charge for 00 Elite in SX1, with a focus for Tanti on early race intensity and aggression in the opening laps hoping to see his 4th place best at Redcliffe turning towards podium placings in the Triple Crown format.

In SX2, Kaleb Barham returns from international duty and the opening World Supercross Championship (WSX) Round in Vancouver, Canada. Braham showed fantastic form overseas and looks to bring his speed that led to a Round best 5th place from Vancouver and 8th overall in the world SX2 class back to Wollongong.

Kayden Minear also looks to build on his Heat Race victories in Redcliffe, with speed in SX2 class being no issue for Minear, as execution will be paramount to securing podium placings in the Triple Crown format at Wollongong.

Along with the Factory riders on the 00 Elite program, the privateers and junior riders across all Championship classes will look to further develop their AUSX skills and experience at Wollongong.

Standout rides from Redcliffe propelled Liam Atkinson as top SX2 privateer, SX3 rider Jack Byrne into 6th in the Championship and young 85cc Star Nixon Darragh into 4th in the Championship.

Round 3 of the 2024 Australian Supercross Championship takes place at WIN Stadium, Wollongong NSW, on Saturday November 2nd. The event will be broadcast across free-to-air coverage on KAYO Streaming in Australia and MAVTV for international audiences.
