Goullet Hits Rookie SX1 Goals With Double Main Event Spots

The JKAYS Elliot Bros supported Caleb Goullet entered his Rookie SX1 Australian Supercross Championship at Redcliffe, QLD with the Double-Header format providing the opportunity to gain valuable experience in his first SX1 appearance. With a goal to Qualify for both main events, Goullet did so with consistency and a base established to build from for the rest of the AUSX season.

Hitting the track for Round 1 on Saturday, Goullet was forced like many in the SX1 field to adapt to the first time riding pre-season settings in a race environment. With a technical track, big whoops and the first time in a stadium environment since Marvel Stadium 2023, Goullet pieced the track and rhythms together across practice and qualifying.

The SX1 Heat Race saw Goullet transfer to the Main Event in SX1, where the Double Header format would yield 20-17 moto scores and 18th overall, for Round 1 out of the 22 rider line-up.

“Round 1 was a challenge with the bike set up and it was the first time I had ridden my race motor in this type of stadium environment,” said Goullet.

“We changed the gearing for Sunday and tried some different things with the bike setup. I knew with this being my rookie year on a 450 that learning how to race with settings would be a challenge, but I’m happy with the progression of the GasGas MC450 by Sunday. Overall, I achieved my goals of making the mains and logging laps all weekend in the Finals without any setbacks. Debuting the KJAYS Elliot Bros program was great, I’m so happy with my support this year and I’m looking forward to Wollongong.”

Round 2 saw a similar performance from Goullet, with an unfortunate DNF in Moto 1 after an opening lap incident with another rider a setback, before he rebounded for 20th in Final 2.

Caleb Goullet sits in 20th position in the SX1 Championship as the JKAYS Elliot Bros program now heads to WIN Stadium, Wollongong for Round 3 of the AUSX Championship on Saturday 2nd November.
