Kawasaki Australia Ready For 2024 AUSX
Kawasaki Australia eagerly awaits the Opening Rounds of the 2024 Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) taking place at KAYO Stadium, Redcliffe QLD, across two action packed days of racing on the 12th and 13th October.
Fielding a bolstered line-up across the Factory backed Empire Kawasaki Team, along with a growing presence of Team Green support programs, including Brett Metcalfe and the GO24 Racing Team, the Kawasaki presence at AUSX promises to be electric as the gates drop for the season opener this weekend.
The Empire Kawasaki Team enter the AUSX Championship with great momentum following the ProMX Championship, where MX1 superstar Luke Clout finished the season with a 2nd overall at the Final Round.
Clout, a renowned Supercross specialist, armed with the 2024 KX450 is eager to get on track at KAYO Stadium;
“The KX450 is a great bike for Supercross and we have made fantastic progress with the Team during our testing following ProMX. Everyone knows how much I love Supercross and the last time we raced AUSX I was able to win at Marvel Stadium, so I’m excited to get the ball rolling again this weekend,” commented Clout.
In the SX2 Class, Reid Taylor comes into AUSX as the 2024 Indian Supercross Champion and looks to build on that momentum heading into the Season Opener.
“I’ve had a great pre-season at my Supercross track and training in NSW. The KX250 is feeling great on the tight tracks and I think this year I can really show what I’m capable of racing in AUSX against the international riders. I’m ready to go,” said Taylor.
The Team Green support program footprint continues to grow and heading up the charge is veteran and all round Australian Motocross legend Brett Metcalfe. Riding a KX450 as part of the GO24 Team, “Metty” comes into AUSX with the stage set for the final chapter of a storied international career spanning over two decades.
“Supercross for me is the perfect way to send off my Full-Time racing career and I couldn’t be happier than doing it with Kawasaki and Team Green. It might take me a few rounds to get moving, but for my home town race in Adelaide, I want to be challenging at the front of the SX1 field to help give the fans a real show,” commented Metcalfe.
The GO24 Team will also field SA rider Mitch Norris in SX2 as part of the Team Green program, whilst Victorian Privateer Zhane Mackintosh will also be on track in SX2 via Team Green and the Powersports Kawasaki Dealership support.
Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2024 Australian Supercross Championship take place at KAYO Stadium, Redcliffe QLD, on October 12th and 13th. The event will be broadcast across free-to-air coverage on KAYO Streaming in Australia and MAVTV for international audiences.
